The FisherPoets Gathering is an gathering of poets, songwriters, storytellers and artists involved in the fishing industry, getting together to to share poems, stories, songs, memoirs, essays and art. Annual gathering of fisher poets to kick off in Astoria
The 14th Annual Fisher Poets Gathering takes off tonight and continues through the weekend in Astoria. Fishers give rousing readings of their poetry, concerts share songs of fishing life and lore, and Astoria reels in visitors with plenty of food and events about life at sea.
To cover all events for the weekend, a button costs $15; patron “Highliner” pins are $30 and a single event card is $5. Accompanied minors under 16 free entry where permitted.
