Just in case you think you had a bad Monday, yesterday the USC container ship Al Rawdah ran aground on a reef in the waters of Pulau Sambu Stone Chain, Rear Padang, Batam, not long after leaving Port Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. The ship was bound for China.
We are work hard to release this ship from Batu Berhanti, best regards from The Indonesian Sea and Coast Guard of Sambu Island.
From The Bridge
I am sure that you are doing all that can be done and we wish you good luck in your efforts.

Poor Al Rawdah… I hope everyone could save her soon..
We miss you <3
mr.irfan ahmed was my class fellow, and best friend, who gave his life during underpants incident of vessel’s grounding.
he was very sincere chief engineer, and served the uasc for around 20 year.i have all sympathies with his family, may god bless his soul in peace and rest.
give patience and courage to his widow, daughters and son to bear this irrecoverable loss.
i will remember such sincere friend till the last breath of my life.
mueen nawaz
May Allah bless my father with the best ever possible reward of Aakhirah and may his soul rest in peace. (Ameen)
IT WAS VERY SAD NEWS THAT UASC SHIP AL RAWDAH AGROUND, AND ANOTHER SAD NEWS THAT CH. ENGR MOHAMMAD IRFAN PASSED AWAY IN THE SHIP. WE PRAY FROM ALLAH SUBHANAHOO WA TAHALLAH TO BLESS HIS SOUL IN PEACE.
I AM VERY SAD FOR THIS HUGE LOSS TO UASC BUT THIS TYPE OF INCIDENTS OF GROUNDING VESSELS NOT NEW IN UASC AND THESE WAS DUE TO LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM AND LACK OF EXPERIENCE IN OFFICERS, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THIS INCIDENT BUT IN THE PAST YEAR THIS TYPE OF INCIDENTS FACED BY UASC.
I SAILED IN UASC FOR 20 YEARS OFF COURSE I SAILED AS A PURSER BUT I SAW THE MASTERS WHO DOES NOT HAVE THE ABILITIES OF CAPTAIN BUT THEY PROMOTED TO THE POST BECAUSE THEY ARE BELONG TO GCC COUNTRIES OR THEY ARE ARAB. MANY INEXPERIENCED OFFICER PROMOTED TO MARINE AND ENGIEERING SUPERINTENDENTS AND THERE ARE VERY OLD MASTERS AND CHIEF ENGINEERS ARE WAITING FOR THE PROMOTIONS.
WHEN THE ARAB CADETS COMING ONBOARD THEY DO NOT GO TO DECK OR ENGINE ROOM SO HOW DOES THEY GET THE KNOWLEDGE OF DECK AND ENGINE. DECK CADETS JUST GO TO BRIDGE FOR WATCH ONLY AND DO NOT GO FOR DECK WORK AND WHEN THIS TYPE OF OFFICERS BECOME TO MASTER OR CHIEF ENGINEER THEN HOW THEY RUN THE SHIPS.
I REQUEST THE UASC MANAGEMENT TO TRY TO FINISH THE DISCRIMINATION BETWEEN ARAB AND OTHERS AND GIVE THE PROMOTIONS ON MERIT BECAUSE TO RUN THE SHIPS SAFELY REQUIRED THE KNOWLEDGE AND PROFESSIONALISM NOT THE NATIONALITY.
IN LAST I PRAY THAT MY ALLAH BLESS UASC FROM MORE LOSS AND INCIDENTS AND GIVE HER MORE POWER AND STABILITY IN FUTURE.
THERE ARE MANY EXPERIENCED STAFF IN UASC BUT MANY ARE AS I MENTIONED.
Bashir,
you have to know first the nationality of the Master onboard Al Rawdah when she grounded before you show your hatering to the GCC & Arab staff.
Dear PURSER BASHIR KHAN,
How are you?
I know you very well & I know what you used to do you & your Pakistani masters!!!!!
First of all you are angry because UASC sacked you & you know the reason !!!!!
2nd Master M.V Al Rawdah is your friends from your country “ Pakistan who promoted by your Pakistani friend Capt. S.Arif “ X-UASC”
very sad news , she was carrying our goods
Does anyone know the current status with the ship ? My last info was that the salvage company would try to afloat the vessel yesterday but no results known.
There has been no news whatsover about the ship, but it appears that she was successfully gotten off the reef and is now at anchor off Singapore according to marine traffic.com
