I have kayaked with killer whales. It was many years ago and the memories are still vivid. I can only imagine how awe inspiring it must be to kayak next to a blue whale, the largest creature ever to live on the face of the earth. Here is an amazing video of a kayaker wearing a Go-Pro helmet cam paddling next to feeding blue whales off Redondo Beach, California. Years ago Bob and I were adrift on our sailboat (no wind; engine troubles) off the coast of Molokai during Humpback season. Spent the night waiting for the wind and surrounded by whales. But that kayak looks pretty darn small, I must ssay!
Seeing these huge creatures from sea level is so breath-taking. Being surrounded by humpbacks must have been fantastic.
