I think Denise Meagher is wonderful. She was Captain of the Lettie G Howard at South Street Seaport and did a great job keeping the volunteers motivated even as the prior museum administration was neglecting the vessels. Very smart & capable.
Really wonderful. Didn’t find my tall ship until the late 70’s while in my late 20’s. But truly found myself, for the first time, in her. Contrary to timeworn tradition and stubborn superstition, the sea and ships leveled the playing field. We later raised our own kids, boy and girl, aboard our brigantine. Unparalleled positive experience! So happy to see this program. So impressed with the owner and skipper.
