A video for a Saturday. Sailing on Red Rock IV in 57 knots of wind in the Bristol Channel on June 28, 2016. Red Rock IV is a 43 footer designed by German Frers and built by Marland Marine for owner E Mandelbaum, as part of the Argentinian team to compete in the 1979 Admirals Cup.

Why is it that the people who create these videos feel some need to enhance the ‘excitement’ with the inclusion of some off-the-wall surf-rock soundtrack?
It would have been far more interesting – and instructive – to hear what a storm like that naturally sounds like.
The video was meant for entertainment and the average viewer is not really interested in being instructed. Besides one can remember many storms over a 50 year career at sea when surf-rock would have been more fun than the listening to the screaming wind believe me !!
Good Watch
I thought that it was a fun video and that the rock track captured the energy of the crew. From a practical point of view, capturing useful sound on a hand-held video camera in high winds is pretty close to impossible. It all comes out as white noise.
