Now, the West Coast is joining in the singing, as the San Francisco Maritime Association is partnering with the SF Maritime National Historical Park for a virtual Hyde Street Pier Sea Chantey Sing series to begin in mid-September. From their events page:
On September 19, 2020, a 39-year SF singing tradition goes virtual! This folk music “landmark” on the historic ships at Hyde Street Pier now returns online, hosting singers from across the Bay Area – and the country. You should have a good internet connection and be ready to have fun!
And Rick, our William Main Doerflinger Memorial Sea Shanty Sessions are sailing again online, third Sunday of each month from 2 to 4 PM. Details and sign-up information can be found on the Noble Maritime Collection’s website. Our next one is Sunday, Sept. 20th.
