A tourist amphibious duck boat overturned after colliding with a barge in the Delaware River this after noon. Of the 37 aboard the duck boat, two are still reported missing.

Not again, I really hate these things. As a ten-year-old in 1946 I saw one being used as a lifeguards rescue boat overturn in the surf. This was at Tramore, Co. Waterford, Ireland and resulted in deaths by drowning. Since then I have spoken to military personnel who operated them in WW2 with pretty much universal dislike. Lets call it a day on the things please.

My family and I enjoyed a duck boat tour in Boston years ago. It was fun but it was limited to streets and the sheltered waters of the Back-bay. Clearly duck boats and barges are a bad combination.
