4th Mumbai International Match Race Begins Today

The city of Mumbai with its great maritime history adds an exciting new event – the West Coast Marine 4th Mumbai International Match Race 2010.

This event will be held off the waters of Chowpatty at the H2O complex from 01- 04 November 2010 under the aegis of the Bay Island acht Club and the Match Racing Association of India; partnered by Trident Hotel and H2O Water- sports Complex.

Match Racing is a format of the sport of sailing that has been likened to the T- 20 format in cricket, wherein the races are short and two boats are pitted against each other in races that last for 15- 20 minutes.

This is the format that is used in the America’s Cup and is getting extremely popular all around the world. This is now been included as an Asian Games Class of racing in the Open category and an Olympic Class in the Women’s category.
